The Dead Question - Ct

I smiled when you gave me a rose How many more would come my way? I do not know, God only knows, Why people are so kind today? When I was alive, no one cared, Some ignored me, some simply stared, Now that I'm gone, all are crying, Will that bring me back from dying? When you gave me a rose, I smiled my way...how many more would come? God only knows, I do not know today...why people are so kind? Spread smiles, send flowers when we live, What'll I do now with what you give? 09.25.2020 For Charles Messina's "Charonnet" poetry contest

Congratulations on your win. "Wonderful" Love your line, "Now that I'm gone, all are crying," So very true. Guess it is guilt. Enjoy your win.

Jo, great poetry my dear friend. Unfortunately the last stanza was a little off or this too would have placed higher. I hope all is well...Congratulations on your placement! Hugs Charlie
