The days dwindle to a precious few The old year like lightning speedily flew A bright new year's poised to push on through But first is conducted a thorough review Our deeds weighed, the bad with the good Against what we would do if we could Unlock the potential that lies dormant inside us At the expense of trivialities superfluous Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year begins Friday night, September 18

Quite true, well penned thoughts. I believe there are ways to "unlock the potential", though few seem to find it these days. This year has been a time of great reflection. A good read.

There you go. You two can also celebrate the 'birthday of the world,' which Rosh Hashana commemorates. It was also the day that Joseph was freed from Pharaoh's prison. It is also the birthday of Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph. Where's Isaac?! -- He is represented by the ram's horn which is sounded 100 times on Rosh Hashana. (Abraham sacrificed a ram instead of Isaac on Mt. Moriya)... A lot of food for thought for your daughter's birthday, Andrea. May she have many, many more, all in good health!! :) gw
