The Day the World Died

"The Day The World Died" By: T.C.Fulton You were the voice in the crowd.. You were there when they all listened.. How quiet you were? How loud was the cry of nature? Like a mouse in a field you waited.. The parking lot..complete.. Like a bird in it's nest...you rested.. The sound of the last tree.. When I fell...I fell hard.. Rocking the earth to it's core.. When the last songbird died.. We all cried..we wanted more.. You watched as they built the mall.. Nowhere to run..in the street.. What a messy way to go... Nature..trying to be free... You didn't think it mattered .. Your perfect little space... When the world died..you were content.. Floating in space.. Imaginary world .. artificial intelligence.. If only you would have listened..to that bird.. In her nest... She would have said..save me.. Let my little children live.. We don't need another house..another road.. We don't need another mall..another school.. We need a field..a forest..a stream.. We don't need imagination..to dream.. We need sunshine..we need rain.. We need love more than intelligence.. We need hope more than inspiration... If you want to save the world.. Stop Changing it..Nature has a way of Erasing our mistakes..if you leave it alone.. Long enough...a baby bird..will learn to fly.. Take the time to listen..before you die.
