The Dance

She twirls gracefully And returns to him. He grips her hand To pull her closer. Her back arches As she leans backward, Her long, silky hair Surrendering to gravity. His hold on her is strong, And in his arms she feels safe, Protected by a love stronger than any other. She comes back up And twirls again, Bissfully happy And light on her feet. He pulls her up for a lift And shows her off To the empty room around them. As her feet touch the ground again, The final notes of the song play out, And the dance ends.

I loved the line where he picked her up and showed her off. That was great! You made me feel like I was there dancing with these two lovers. Beautiful poem.
