The Dame's Reply To the Passionate Poet

(Reply To The Passionate Poet To His Love) So come with you and become your love? Intrigued am I, I must admit For you have chosen me to be The only woman you’ll ever need But you must stop and understand The woman chooses and not the man The birds and bees that you refer Their flight of passion I will defer The man I want, the one I yearn My every mood he’ll need to learn Address my doubts with words that soothe While wanting too my mind to use A rendezvous, a subtle place, A chat, the view, your handsome face Your words paint pictures of such delight, But I want more within my life I’d love to see some poetry Your words of beauty I’d love to read And if my wants you look to fill I’ll come with you and become your love You offer passion, but I need more Your passioned love, will it endure? If my desire you care so much Then I will come and become your love Written in Texas -2012

A woman goes after the total package, MC, even though passion constitutes a large slice of it!! Above all, she also wants to be reassured! A type of life-insurance, I would say:) Regards // paul

WOW... this is blissful dynamite...love this perspective. My favorite lines, "A rendezvous, a subtle place, A chat, the view, your handsome face Your words paint pictures of such delight, But I want more within my life...

Ha! Did I nail it? LOL! I don't know, I think that's what she'd say. I hope you got to read the Passionate Poet poem which is the companion poem to this one. They both tie together. Thanks though, I'm glad you liked it! MC

that is a loaded question she is asking him. I think when people are in love passionately, they are going to say anything. he cannot promise enduring love. Well, maybe he can if he is not a player!!! This was very interesting to see you doing it from the woman's viewpoint. it's so fun to be creative and try things like that.

It was fun! I was so inspired by Raleigh's famous response to Marlowe I figured why not take a crack at it! This one was a bit harder to write since it was from a woman's point of view. Trying to assess what she wants and how she'd respond to this over-passioned poet was quite challenging. Thank you very much for reading and commenting!

It was very important to me to replay the exchange between Marlowe and Raleigh. Marlowe the younger poet a little naive and Raleigh the older poet really slapping him down in the Nymph's Reply. Me, I waited 20 years to reply to my younger self, though I decided not to be as harsh to the 15 year old Marquis LOL! Writing from a women's point of view was kind of cool too, never did it before. Thanks!
