Cushion of Night

As I look up at the countless stars in the night sky, I can’t help but wonder what’s really up there. I think we’re a world within a world and that’s why Light comes through, but from who knows where. Beyond the darkness shines an everlasting light That shows through the sky of a black curtain. The stars are just pinholes in the cushion of night. We’re just a tiny little speck, of that you can be certain. We are but one little planet in a galaxy of many others. If you think we’re alone, then you’re just plain naïve. Why would someone create such a space without brothers? Some day soon, we’ll find the answer to this, I do believe. Who’s to say that we’re not a bug to other beings? Maybe they look at us as something not so large. After all, every creature does strange things Including us humans, thinking that we’re in charge. Maybe our world is just a marble spinning around And someone, something, somewhere is just playing with it. We’re simply a game, a toy in their little playground. Aren’t you curious, even just a little bit?
