The Cowardly Lion

Bert Lahr, silly whiskers standing erect
His voice always quivering with emotion
Looking for the courage he already had
It was much more than a silly notion....

He touched my heart with his love
I laughed when he played with his tail
Not a deep dramatic role I know
But a favorite of mine..without fail.

No one will ever forget Lahr's classic role as the cowardly lion. And he did seem to play with his tail quite a bit -- probably a nervous habit. LOL Thanks for bringing Lahr to life again in your great poem and good luck in Frank's contest. Love, Carolyn
