The Common People Heard Him Gladly - Mark 12: 37a

Jesus came with a message of good news
calling all sinners to repentance
He spoke in parables so all understood
that all who rejected Him received His sentence

Jesus spoke with simplicity and authority
for He was God's son, heavenly sent
to lead the people to believe the gospel
for only then could they truly repent

The common people heard Him gladly
for Jesus spoke with real compassion
showing He loved them to the last
moving them by His fullest action

These people weren't like the Pharisees
or the Sadducees and rulers of the land
who thought they were above all others
in reality, were blindly and a lost band

The common people were so glad
to hear Jesus every blessed word
for it brought them life and hope
in their hearts were truly stirred

("And the common people heard him gladly.")
Mark 12: 37b
