The Colour That Defies - La couleur de tes yeux

VIDEO DESCRIPTION

The ballad of a French artist who longs to paint the indescribable—the beautiful delicate, elusive hues of his sightless Lover’s eyes as he endeavours to describe them to her. Haunted by her eyes in the many hues of nature, he’s exasperated that his every brush stroke defies all his attempts to capture their essence. Can he ever capture the beauty of her eyes on his canvas?

How does one describe, to a sightless Lover the beautiful colour of her eyes shifting hues and paint them. It makes me realise how fortunate we sighted people are to be able to see. Though, perhaps the sightless have developed that 'Third Eye'.

The video is great to watch on your home screen also with full sound effects if you get the chance on YouTube . Thank you for your visit.

The Colour That Defies - La couleur de tes yeux.

LYRICS I see beyond green treetops an emerald that makes me sigh I see beyond the cotton clouds a cobalt that sends me high I see beyond a storm-lit wave a mercury gleam drift by I see beyond the blackened dusk an onyx peint dans le ciel painted in the sky But I see beyond and never find the colour that defies The only one I cannot paint The one that makes me cry I see beyond and never find la couleur de tes yeux the colour of your eyes I see beyond the autumn leaves a burnished gold I can't deny I see beyond the twilight mist a violet, soft yet spry I see beyond and never find la couleur de tes yeux the color of your eyes I try to shape it, trace its light mix the shades, but they're not right mon amour, couleur perdue no pigments hold, what I pursue I see beyond your sightless eyes no hue no brush can justify the only one I cannot name the one that makes me cry I see beyond and never find la couleur de tes yeux The colour of your eyes

Maria, how very beautiful. So sad in it's yearning. I would never presume to describe a sight to one who has never seen. Years ago I considered hosting a contest where one had to describe the colors of a scene by using textures. But my thoughts spiraled, and I didn't like the direction, and presumptuousness, some may have attached to it. I would never presume to think I understood what it is to not see, hear, etc. But these words are touching, full of love... timeless

Eyes talk to us. The mood of an eye can swing from love to thinking of memories, or concerns of if your loved one is just making you feel good that day. For the artist. It is difficult to capture entirely, for even the weather can change both the colour and the mood la couleur de tes yeux. A fragile passionate, haunting search to describe his lovers eyes. I love the french words and phrases, they tickle my memory. Tres bien mon mie. L'AMOUR GALORE TO YOU DEAR POETESS.à. Jennifer

I have to admit the eyes are a beautiful thing as they are the window to your soul... so a rare and unique colour is always beautiful.. This is a lovely and sensual poem and the video has been made really well with intoxicating eyes.. Ron has done wonders on this one.. Do you every give the young chap any rest? His finger and eyes must be so tired... Peace and Blessings...

He knows its good for his Soul. lol. Thanks for the visit and comment. As I told Daniel in the below commentI feel that the Soul has its own colour, a hue beyond sight, a vibration rather than pigment. An unnamed glow, felt more than seen, like the warmth of a memory. Thats what I was going for in my lyrics. Its the colour that denied the artist...Hugs

Hi Maria, this has literally made me cry. How heart stirring and breath taking. We never realize what a great gift we enjoy through our eyesight. Once we are deprived of this eyesight, to what abysmal pit of darkness we will be falling. The man wants to paint the color of his blind beloved's eyes. But he cannot, as he hasn't seen it. He wonders if it has the color of the emerald beyond tree tops or the cobalt he sees beyond cotton clouds. He has no idea and he laments over his incapability. Amazing poem with its haunting melody and its beautiful video recording.

My dear Valsa, it's such a pleasure seeing your encouraging comment on my page. I'm so happy it resonated with you. A slight correction however, please read my comment to Daniel below. The artist's lover, who has beautiful eyes that defies all his attempts to explain changing hues to her and he is frustrated that he cannot reproduce the colour of her eyes on Canvas. I think he succeeded in the end. Hugs Maria

Dear Maria, This is breathtaking video and words and a great melody enveloped in color, longing, and the ache of the unattainable. I loved how each shade, each brushstroke builds toward something just out of reach, making the emotion even more powerful. Hauntingly beautiful. Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Very beautiful, lovely poetry -- I think, that what we cannot capture, define definitively in nature, why we love a certain other, is the mystery inside and behind all poetry. Were such enchantments easily explained, seen and appreciated in depth for obvious parameters alone...then there would no need for us poets. Our Divine purpose. Though on the surface, artists may seem to have a particular person or subject in mine, we never create without a sense of connection with an infinite universe. This is extraordinary art you have produced here. The voice, the music, all so incredibly well done.

Dear Joe, thanks so much for such an astute comment, I truly appreciate what you say. The Divine purpose of the poet’s role is to awaken—whether through love, rebellion, grief, or joy—bringing clarity to the chaos and meaning to the overlooked. They serve as storytellers, healers, and prophets, preserving wisdom while pushing the boundaries of expression. So glad you summed up what I was trying to convey so well...Hugs

C'est magnifique. Since the death of my wife, I never looked at another woman. It is as if I'm blind. Yet I know beyond the eternal, the beauty of a fabulous pair of eyes that I cannot appreciate. Blind people will never enjoy the lovely attraction of a most attractive lady with such brilliant eyes. Your video will haunt me forever. Truly c'est magnifique. Hugs and a beautiful poem.

Dear Maria, beautiful soul, this is beyond powerful and so well written, well composed, well presented and every word in this really is lyrical and so soul stirring! The depth of your lyrics, and the softness of your words truly blew me away as theres so much said and conveyed in sheer elegance! I especially love " I see beyond the autumn leaves a burnished gold I can't deny I see beyond the twilight mist a violet, soft yet spry I see beyond and never find la couleur de tes yeux" made me also wonder what language it is? Sounds exotic! The video is really touching and the vocals in this hav so much emotions? Which makes me feel even more as i watch the video! Love this! Youv done an exquisite job! A fave it is for me definitely! Pleasure visiting your page today. Sending you light always

Dear Maria let me start by saying this is an extraordinary amazing theme and a Poetic story that touches the reader in the most sensitive part of their heart. A mission and a tormented journey to find that illusive pigment that defines his Lovers eyes. His passion and his struggle because of his endearing Love for his blind Love makes it even more important to search and find it for her. Sadly he will be forever devastated for not finishing the Portrait due to not finding the most sought ...
