The Colour of My Heart
The deeper that we look inside we find
The less there is to tell us all apart
Distinctions that exist inside the mind
Retreat before the colour of the heart
We are not better than nor are we worse
Regardless of our size or shape or shade
For if our differences were reversed
We'd see the folly of such mad charade
The irony that prejudice reveals
Transparency of ignorance and hate
Is that with certainty they both conceal
The wondrous beauty of life's shared estate
In truth, despite our different design
The colour of your heart's the same as mine
