The Closing of the Malls

A lot of malls are closing (As I found out in the news) ‘Cause empty stores must equal A decline in revenues. For many folks despise the trip – The traffic, parking, gas – Especially when Amazon Has bargains that surpass. With just one click, your every wish Comes true at your command And you don’t have to schlep those bags, So heavy in your hand. A way of life is passing by, For better or for worse And soon our homes will be the measure Of our universe.

You have said it all in this wonderfully penned poem, Ilene. I never thought. That anything like the malls, would come and go in my lifetime---I hear Mc Donald's is having trouble also

Oh yes, Ilene. It is sad to see that happening. :( Cyprus had an economic crises and some parts of the city look so forlorn now with no sign of life. One big mall we used to go to has closed down...and another one too. Sad...Lovely poem, though. Technology is changing our way of live. Sending you hugs

I fear you may be correct, but we are also giving up personal interaction, and therefore forgetting how. That is the part I find to be the biggest loss in our new world.

With no sales tax...lower prices and the convenience of shopping in your pj's...it is a no brainer to shop from home...hugs Tim

Smooooothhh. :) And I have to say. We used to lament that the malls were ruining the downtown shopping areas. Kinda hate to think what another thirty, forty years will be like. May the children of today be blessed. Peace. :)
