The Cliff

The first day of my life
The twinkle in her eye
A perfect blemish of cheek
My smile in her breath

Who is this girl
Whose smirk gives me joy
Who has me laughing
Feels like the breeze

As I gaze, my calamity fades
My heart pulls and calls
Her eyes sparkle with magic
Oh no I think

I may fall again
No, let us not tempt fate
To jump off the edge
Smashed by rocks

This time I will wait
As I grab on her train
Use it for rope
Close my eyes and hope

Descend to new possibilities
Never afraid
Solid earth, obscured
Down to the new adventure
