Notes About The Poem

"Yalto" is a minimalist, semi-staccato, pithy poetry form used to tell a story, make a statement/complete a thought, create an image/paint a vivid portrait, etc. It was invented by yours truly. Lines 1-15: 3,4,2,4,5,3,2,3,2,3,3,5,6,1,5 syllables.

The Circle of Life

planted d
               e
               e
               p
     seed draws talons
          life, born...
               cleansed in spring rain
                    green leaves dance in light
                          stem then grows 

blooms wilt
    petals f
                a
                 l
                 l
          dust returns
                earth breaths
                      new growth starts
                           seasons change once more
                               winter yields to warmth
                                     and...
life begins anew
