The Chosen Landing
To V on the passing of her mother
They say we choose our parents from some ethereal plain
Deciding on the womb to bare the birthing and the pain
And knowing not their circumstance before we came to be
Inherit all the good and bad in their lives we may see
They say there is a reason for landing where we did
For going through whatever, experiences as a kid
Many books are written on perfect parenting ways
But some of us are born to those with pain from younger days
They say there is a wisdom in getting understanding
in accepting and forgiving the circumstances of your landing
For one day you are their parent and they the helpless child
And even in the worst of thoughts, you may recall their smile
And now you have the freedom, to live the life you chose
Making sure that on the past, some doors you tightly close
Appreciate the people that love you much and care
Trust that in your landing here, God put some blessings there.
