Motto: Image result for pictures of hand drawn mouse trapsA choice once made has at least some control.

The mouse driven by hunger When he was so much younger Now runs about on less toes And is missing part of his nose He is much wiser in his old age Some even call him a sage He warns against conceit and greed Some youth still have to bleed Choices are spread throughout Until a choice is made no doubt There is freedom to live unencumbered Good choices linger unnumbered
I was trying to do an emblem poem but the form of emblem is not on the list.

Terse with wisdom and to the point. Nicely done. The first human pair made the wrong choice. Life would be much different had they made the right one. / Maurice

That mouse speaks from experience, Sara! We are all free to make whatever choices we want, but it's important to make the right ones! ~ Regards // paul

Most enjoyable. So much of life is about choices and their consequences both dire and joyful (as every mouse knows). All the best Brian

Brian, Sad that the young don't learn from what is said to them by example but they now say their brains have not developed adult thinking. I think some people never get there and live like they are nine feet tall and bullet proof. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Sara, a nice emblem poem with a good allegory for us to learn from the mistakes of our erring youthful ways. Thank you for your visits to my poems recently. God bless ~ John

It's all about choice, very loud and clear voice. The message is just fine, the rhyme is right on time. Good One Sara.

Silent One, Thanks for dropping by. I do not like mice and rats. I wonder why our cat doesn't keep them under control. LOL..In the fall they want to come in out of the cold and eat our crumbs. I have already had to set a trap and get rid of one. Thanks for the visit. Sara
