The Caves of Jupiter Part 1
THE CAVES OF JUPITER
Part I.
In the days of the dark of Jupiter
the great King Daeth ruled both day and night,
for his was a mind set free of a need for rest and sleep.
And all of the universe did wonder
about life on the greatest of planets
in the Solar System,
but they stayed unto themselves instead,
for it was lands and times of plenty
and they would not share it with anyone
for they knew
the way would make itself known to those
who were aware of the great wealth
of Jupiter.
And King Daeth did say unto his physicians
who had given him great knowledge
and life for ten thousand years more,
"...get you into the debtors pit
for my needs of you are at an end.
And they did moan and say that he did deceive them
into their very death.
And he answered them and did say "this you should believe."
But he did also save out the eldest of the physicians,
he being of great wisdom and able
to save his very own self along with the king.
The great king did say "Look at the moons
for the very last time for I must needs remove them
from your very sight."
And the king did put out his eyes with a blade
and swore him to secrecy and obedience
so that his knowledge he could pass into the new physicians
at the end of ten thousand years,
so that they might increase the life
of the king by ten thousand years again,
for the king did know and have great
knowledge that if he but will it,
then his physicians would find a way.
And out of the numbers of the physicians
were an hundred and six who were thrown into the pit
and consumed by fire.
And out of the numbers of the physicians
were an hundred and two who were thrown into the pit
and they were torn apart by lions with two heads.
And the remaining hundred and nine of physicians
who were thrown into the pit
were eaten alive by the she devils
who also hated King Daeth.
And then the king did say, bring all of the maidens
from all of the cities
yea, and from every village bring them all,
into my chamber for I have a need
that has not yet been filled.
And the fathers did say
"...has not the king been afflicted with the plague?
What will we say unto the suiters
after the king has sent my daughter back unto her own?
Surely we cannot give unto them
she who has been so afflicted and of unclean body?
Woe unto our childrens children
who will be born with the plague of King Daeth
for surely their suffering shall be great."
And the king answered then unto them
such is my will.
And they marveled that King Daeth knew all,
and everywhere was he; yea
even unto the very secret meeting places
they did choose,
so the king's spirit would be also.
And so the young maidens were sent
to the court of the king,
each waiting for their own time,
and the maidens were of great beauty
each unto her own way
and in their own turn they went to the king,
for the numbering of the maidens
went on night and day.
