The Cat Song

The Cat Song

If I were a cat,
only were a cat,
what a happy little cat
I would be.

If I were a cat,
only were a cat,
oh how catty
things would be.

"The Cat Song" would make a cute Nursery Rhyme. Kids would love it. Have a blessed day writing away....................

Blessings to you, Paula. Yes, I think children would like it, though that was not the origin of it. "If I Were a Rich Man" from "Fiddler on the Roof" popped into my head as one of cats lorded his way before me. I then put these words to that tune. -- DT

Indeed they are, Valerie. Over the years we have taken in many cats abandoned by people moving in and out of the neighborhood, and they all have been special. -- DT

Cute little verse so suitable for reciting to a small child. They would find it delightful, just as I did, and I am an old, old man!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The fact is that I wrote it when I was a child. When I was posting last night it popped into my head, so I thought "Why not?" and shared it. Thank you for your comment. -- DT
