The Cage
It is so dark and lonely
that place you call sanctuary.
It makes you feel safe, unseen.
The walls are full of your pain,
and yet you turn to them again!
Images turned to face the wall
so no-one can see it all,
but yet they still burn through
and get to you.
I want to tear them down,
your thorny crown.
I dreamt about that room
filled with your silent screams
I do not want your dreams,
but yet I do.
They ripped me apart, yet I couldn't feel,
but I know to you they are real.
Demons come to haunt you,
silently they taunt you.
Walls that you construct
safe haven of self destruct.
I want in, I push the door,
I want to give you so much more
than this prison, this cage!
I see you looking out, WANTING out!
I know its hard as these awful demons
trick you into feeling they know you,
but they control you.
One day I know the door will open...
stay open
and you will walk out.
And we will be waiting here for you
with all that's safe, warm TRUE!
