The Brutal Truth collaboration with Sandra Weiss

My mirror tells the brutal truth, a woeful tale of vanished youth Where one eye squints and one eye shines and broken dreams are long dark lines. Emotionless and coldly callous Honesty without spite or malice Shamelessly silent yet telling all Reflecting the writing on the wall. An image appearing all too clear Becomes too telling, too austere Once colorful hues seen on display Have now faded into a dismal gray To know and see what is real and true But then to sadly regret the view. Telling myself it doesn't matter Yet knowing, one is bound to shatter. Sandra Weiss Daniel Turner

Such a great poem..lovely rhymes. I love a good collaboration and you both certainly hit your stride with this! I hope there was plenty of synergy, tension, compromise, grace, respect and energy in the journey (sounds like marriage!). Blessings. Please do more. Sam x

Daniel and Sandra, Your collaboration poem is a poignant portrayal of introspection and acceptance. The scenes of the mirror reflecting vanished youth and broken dreams speaks volumes about the human experience. Your words beautifully capture the bittersweet essence of acknowledging truths that may be difficult to bear. It wonderfully shows the complexities of life and the inevitability of change. A wonderful collaboration and a profound piece of artistry with the world. - Blessings, Daniel

Wow, what a great job you and Sandra have done with this poem. I can relate, I am losing my eyesight in my left eye. I think that if I really could see as well as I once did, I may truly throw out the mirror in my house ;) Sometimes dwindling eyesight can be a blessing! I enjoyed reading this out loud to my husband after I'd read it to myself, he really liked it as well. Great job!

A great collaboration Sandra and Daniel. My advice is to avoid mirrors at all costs, it saves one having continuous shocks… Belle
