Notes About The Poem

The Blind Man

The blind man
walks slowly to the voting polls,
reaches for a lever
and pulls it.
There! Now I’ve voted.
I’m a good citizen.
Leaving, he stumbles
and falls into my arms.
Did you vote today?
No, I’m not blind.
