The Blessing of Sunshine

As sun shines splendidly in April sky, and lights our pathway brightly through the day, and warms our spirit, leaves us feeling high; it gives us hope that ardor here will stay. And flowers lift their faces for his light while seeking radiance in hopes to grow, and to their nectar circle bees in flight, and butterflies do flutter by so slow. But what If sudden darkness swept the land, and sun no longer brightened up the sky? The lifeless world would be like desert sand; a barren waste, devoid of life - bone dry. The sun’s a blessing given from above; each day we should be thankful for His love. March 10, 2018 Contest: Sunshine Sonnet Sponsor: John Hamilton

Such a lovely and well-written Sonnet, John. Congratulations, and it is so nice to see it on this winners' list, but I think it should have placed higher considering your correct use of the Sonnet form and required metric feet! Sandra

A beautiful introduction to Spring John and worrying warning if the sun does not shine. Then your last verse welcomes the life giving glory of the Sun. Beautiful. All the best in the Contest...Maria
