The Black Lady Living Next Door

She sweeps her lawn almost every day
She wears a vest that blocks my way
               Tomorrow, I swear
I’ll greet her anyway

She stares through her window opposite my kitchen
I have loved the view, will turn it my room
With all due respect , I might  turn her my moon
To show her my strength, I will offer her a hen

It’s 5 in the morning and a knock on my door
I must open it wide to prove I am a widower
To my utter surprise it’s a debt collector
His name is Robert, and now we done

Her skin is black, I adore her melanin
Although I am afraid, I am sure I can win
If I cease her heart, will buy her a flat
By the end of the week burn all my fat

The black lady next door, look familiar
With her in my house, will build la familia
           Tomorrow I swear
I’ll greet her anyway

             It’s been now a month, and I haven’t said a word
And I only have a dream to become her lovebird
It’s midnight, I must make my bed
Tomorrow, I’m in shape, I won’t be afraid

The black lady next door is set to leave
I’m trembling inside, I must hold my breathe
Today is the day I promised myself
A step at time, I must walk like a chief

Good morning my lady, extending my hand
She grabs it tight, I must act like a man
My name is Joh, I’m sure you are Nyota
As sweet as our names, we form great butter

It’s been now 5 years, and we have a toddler
His name is John, he’s just like his father
What used to be my kitchen is now his room
I hope that through this window, he shall spot his queen

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
