The Better Half
She wonders why she told him anything
Shared what isn’t easy to do
Now, nothing is but a flailing swing
Back and forth with lack of what is true
I wonder why she tried so much
Now, seems like wasted time gone by
Even when to walk needing a crutch,
Relied on a cane instead to get around
As far as energy, there wasn’t much
Still she thought something good was found
I wonder why balance suddenly wanes
Not just with walking, but otherwise
Things are turbulent on a racing train
With little tolerance for even small lies
Life will always bring lessons to be
Learned even when tiring to go through
But one must walk and one must see
The better half of everything too
