The Beheading of Nînwe Ninwe is the ancient Syriac name for Mosul (not to be confused with the ancient Assyrian city of Nineveh) Burned books Dead poets Dark ages of Mosul Smattered relics Islamic horrors Dark ages of Mosul Education denied Blind minds cutting out eyes Dark ages of Mosul Evil hearts Dark Souls Rulers in Mosul The golden age of Islam long ago Evil winds have blown Now they live in darkness In Burka tears Fear For years Crucified Christians Run run run The museum is closed in Mosul

As I am a Syriac from Mosul, thank you so much for the superb imagery you showed about what has befallen Nineveh by those evils.. Fadi..

Fadi, your comment, there can be no greater compliment, I prey the light will shine again there! Humanity will only survive when we all have compassion for our differences and share the love of life! Marhaba and thank you

Well...well. I believe I'm looking at the other side of the pendulum where you swing from. Darkly serious now, sharp wit the next. Not surprised about Mosul, it has been prophesied more than thousand years before. Not surprised with the masterful stroke of your pen either, it has now come to be expected. 7 salutes!

Yes, I follow the situation there closely, even I wrote this about the destroying of the museum in Mosul, for me its symbolic of the depravity and lack of compassion for their fellow human beings. Sad indeed. :(

A sad but true story that offers quiet reflection on the nature of our world and the values we place on life and freedom. Emile. #7

Don't go pulling any punches now. I highly doubt that it fits the "light" title very well. But a great thought provoking read it is.
