The Beast Within

Listen to poem:

 The beast that sleeps within,
As he prowls and shadows sin…
He bellows with a raging roar,
Salivating the gathered gore.

The beast hides upon my sleep,
Waking wounds touching deep…
When alert he stands proud,
An Alpha male well endowed.

For now, I see a little kitten,
Twice shy and once bitten…
Thus beauty calms the beast,
The fury has been released.
