The Beast

After waiting for the day to clear I pause and there below the ground nagging at my feet , a beast , so cleverly looks up at me. I step back amid the blooms And chewed my lip The beast turned the other way for I was just nothing to it

Eve, the hair on the back of my neck is standing on end, I'll have to sleep with the lights on...this could have worked for the creatures of the night poetry contest. I just wrote something similar; I would like you to come and visit. A friend

You do have to be careful out in the wild. One time when I was working in Alaska I went out with my camera and tried to capture a moose in knee-deep snow. It began to chase me and I almost dropped my camera in the snow but managed to escaped. I enjoyed your poem Eve. Blessings xxoo

Connie, my husband used to do a lot of hunting and he tried to take me up , I flatly refused.Around the area were bobcats bears elk snakes and I’m a big coward. I go did go camping once in a while with him.

Ah, okay. Opossums do tend to run the other way. They are not terribly aggressive. OTOH, so do snakes sometimes. I enjoyed the poem.
