Notes About The Poem

In my mind it started out as a piece on space dark energy and it's black magic—the straight jacket; Milton's form, restricted my mind meandering into dark Goya medieval and poof!  Revelations. The theme is, poets veering into that dark territory.

A Trionet is a form created by LMilton Hankins.   A two-stanza poem. The first stanza follows the rules for a standard triolet of eight (8) lines  ABaAabAB (capital letters are repeated lines). The second stanza consists of six (6) lines, formed with five (5) lines repeated from the first stanza and adding an appropriate non-repeated rhyming last line with a rhyme scheme of AAABBb.

The Baneful Sonnets Doom

Dark energy spreads ink across the universe,
dripping scarlet liquid fated by black magic.
As the wheels spin poets' necromantic verse,
dark energy spreads ink across the universe,
and trumpeting angels’ mighty blasts rehearse.
The baneful sonnets doom driven by tragic.
Dark energy spreads ink across the universe,
dripping scarlet liquid fated by black magic.

Dark energy spreads ink across the universe,
As the wheels spin poets' necromantic verse,
and trumpeting angels’ mighty blasts rehearse.
The baneful sonnets doom driven by tragic,
dripping scarlet liquid fated by black magic.
Disk dim damning polemics prosing perverse.

Anaya, you have much more poetic talent than I can ever imagine. Really remarkable and wonderful how willing you are to experiment. This has an amazing connection to the end of things we know. Funny too that dark matter and dark energy really exist according to cosmologists. Smiles.

Good use of the word, polemics, in your last line. Congrats! You have illuminated the dark side of verse very well. The end is, of course, nearer than last year.

Dear Anaya, What! yes, What, a masterful blend of cosmic imagery and poetic craft on this unique poem. Your use of the triolet form definitely creates such a haunting repetition that truly mirrors the expansive nature of dark energy. I could deeply feel your apocalyptic imagery for it evokes a sense of doom. For me, your choice of words, particularly "necromantic" and "baneful," infuses the piece with an air of mysticism and foreboding. It haunts the soul. Good Luck in the Contest! Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Ty, Daniel. This form was created by a poet I once had the privilege to know and enjoy here when I first posted on PS. LMilton Hankin's Trionet is the form, not quite the Triolet. A difficult confining form. :)

Your reference to Goya was apropos. I miss Milton as my compadre and inspiration. One of the undeniably decent souls on PS, he had the courage of his convictions, practicing what he preached as he offered in turns, encouragement and solace. His last posting demonstrated his unwavering faith as he approached his final reward. He would have enjoyed reading your engaging poem, in a form created by Milton himself. Cheers, Robert

This one reads like a spin off from your (Space between the stars) Anaya, only done in a much stricter form, a very potent piece too may I add, (As the wheels spin poet’s necromantic verse) the stand out line amongst many, nothing like a little metaphorical black magic in the poet’s toolbox, an excellent piece, all the best in contest, cheers David (Nice to see Milton’s legacy is still alive on the soup)

I know I will contemplate more on that it's contagious and I want to do more on dark energy. Cheers to Milton! :):)

Glad you picked up on that black magic, because the universe is packed with the stuff (Dark energy) that is, we (poets) should really contemplate it more, but only if we don’t need a straight jacket afterwards lol!

OmG! In my mind it started out as a piece on space dark energy, and something you said somewhere, it is black magic--the straight jacket; Milton's form restricted my mind meandering into dark Goya medieval and poof! Revelations the theme is poets veering into that dark territory. Today it is all about Milton, Yay. My favorite line is (dripping scarlet liquid fated by black magic). Cheers, David! Ty's for your thoughts--anything helps me to understand more. lol.

The structure of this poem is truly difficult, but you did well. Perfect structure not so easy to compose.

Ty, Victor. I was about to scrap it, but I let it ride. I know it'll be too dark for some folks, but this is what the evangelists believe in yes? It's their true reality. Today is about Milton and remembrance of him. Milton, RIP in the Heavens above.
