The Bald Eagle - Eileenesque

Unimpressed, she sits alone watching There high above the river flowing Sharp, keen eyes always scan, protecting Her eggs are safe, awaiting hatching Alone watching the river flowing Jet air planes and speeding cars go by As she watches from her perch on high Then with stunning grace, she leaps to fly Gliding, soaring, master of the sky From her perch on high, she leaps to fly The bald eagle impressed me that day While watching her majestic display As her kingdom there, she did survey Turning, circling, choosing her way Choosing her way, impressed me that day ©Donna Jones...an attempt at Eileen's form for her.....:-) :-) *we have bald eagles winter here along our rivers and build nests..it is awesome to go watch them..

I've never seen a bald eagle, but you capture the spirit of the bird. What a noble fowl, overseeing her young, and flying with such grace.

Wonderful poem my friend, I can just see the eagle soaring above, we get very few eagles here, mainly colourful parrots, I would love to see an eagle especially a bald one..........Vera..............

This poem speaks to me as a woman and mother. Unappreciated for her endeavors. As hard as she tries, she can only grow wings when she realizes her potential. She sees others before her rising and wonders why. But it's when SHE knows who SHE is that then SHE will grow stronger wings and be able to fly further in order to protect her young.

To see an eagle soaring as master of the sky is an awesome experience To know they are protected warms my heart and affirms my faith that we still value God's gifts. I agree with whoever said, "When God created them He was just showing off. "... Great job, Darlin' .... Jake

We have a highway that follows the river here where viewing the eagles is so common most people don't even notice anymore...what a shame...
