The Autumn Leaves

I love the autumn season when the leaves all start to turn And the smell of wood that fills the air as woodstoves start to burn The wind throughout the maples makes a peaceful rustling sound And liberates the tired leaves so they can fall to ground                                                       The fallen leaves in vibrant hues of yellow, brown and red Create a pretty cover like a quilt upon a bed The trees are all quite bare now and will sleep through winter snow Until the Spring returns again and new growth starts to show

Autumn is my favorite season, though I live in Hawaii and do not get to enjoy it anymore. I enjoyed your rustic lovely poetic tribute to its beauty. Aloha Connie

You bring us full circle to spring's new beginnings. The fall, though, is refreshing in its cooler nights, + newly colored trees. An enjoyable verse. Best wishes, Brian
