The Autumn Leaves
I love the autumn season when the leaves all start to turn
And the smell of wood that fills the air as woodstoves start to burn
The wind throughout the maples makes a peaceful rustling sound
And liberates the tired leaves so they can fall to ground
The fallen leaves in vibrant hues of yellow, brown and red
Create a pretty cover like a quilt upon a bed
The trees are all quite bare now and will sleep through winter snow
Until the Spring returns again and new growth starts to show
