The Applicant's

Applicant's Poem Lionel Derbyshire Destiny is a walk Which never steps backwards% The day I became an applicant I feared the blank holes To insert and answer on Ice cold I frozen hoped To complete the form. This is the forward1% step My foot is in the door. The application is Not for the dead. This is my hour to be Or not to be employ. The attendant reads my face And smirk's another applicant I dragged a answer smile My cause here is.. To do the job. The eager in my eye Satisfies the Captain chief He order's.. Complete the cast form And sign the line. Regularity and method.. Is our requirement. In the yard you will start There is mud to be dug up. On mine sleeve's I grind and bite my teeth The job starts. After a long while In years to come Now I have a coffee In the premuim lounge And ponder on those Long line's in the mud I see my line's In the beauitful building's I have architected for my city. Mine wife was told To mend a hole Upon a rag And little did she know On application Her red carpet fashion outfits Designed with many holes The famous would attire. Our son looked up And saw the rain He applied A fireman he became And a hero was made. Never sigh a maybe On the application line This waiting all your life For your destiny to Make you a somebody.
