The Answers We Seek
Oh Holy God, mighty God have mercy on me
and all of Your children.
We drown in the sea of death, thinking that
the water's stench is as sweet smelling as
the palace's rose garden.
Forgive us for not looking to You for the
answers that we seek instead of looking
at our neighbor, or the person next to us...
only to find that they are not the one to fix
our stare upon.
It's so easy to get confused down here when
all do growl and gnash their teeth while
thinking that things should go their way...
because this world would be so much better.
To do things their way instead of following You,
to absorb and bask in the gift of the Spirit that
You have given us.
To draw from the abundant wells of goodness,
divine love, strength and power...
Such as the Holy indwelling being might give us,
to have life and to have life more abundantly.
