Notes About The Poem

Yesterday 3 more people in the UK died as a result of taking these 'Superman' tablets unaware that this particular drug doesn't take immediate effect so a second tablet is taken .....

The Alternative 'superman'

So you think you are like Superman Pop a pill and you can fly Beware of what you are really taking To get an illegal high The new superman pills can be fatal They don’t give you an immediate hit The slow release effect can be deceitful You need to be made very aware of it No high comes … you simply can’t wait Beware Superman has yet to take effect Pop another pill and seal your deathly fate Overdosing is fatal this fact you can’t neglect So you think you are like Superman Pop a pill and you can fly The tragic reality of taking these drugs They are causing too many people to DIE 3rd January 2015

Excellent, Jan. This message belongs in a Public Awareness campaign, maybe it could save a few lives, especially those looking for an immediate high. It's difficult to wean off people from taking drugs but at least they can take more care. It's like asking the addicts to use at least sterilized needles to avoid aids. Loved the poem, deserves a higher placement; but I guess there are restrictions on the contest sponsor, too. Congrats. ~karam~

It is a subject close to my heart - we lost 2 young lives (brothers) in Dec 2014 and it rocked our community - any warning message we can get out is vital if it saves just one life it is worth it:-) hugs Jan xx

Jan, I like poems that deliver a practical message, and that's just what this one does (and does superbly well, being from your pen). Thank you.

There are now 4 people who died that day Harry - they arrested a 19 yr old man in connection with the deaths. The poem hits hard with me on a personal level as it is most likely my son's 2 friends, who died a few weeks before Christmas, died as a result of taking drugs like this.:-( Hugs Jan xx

First of all let me congratulate you for this life-saving poem! I ignore what it is as I ignore all pills! Second, I would like to add that we live in the age of pills that promise solution to all our problems at the moment we do not need any for nature has foreseen all and has provided for all situations a solution! Bravo again and Bravo for the powerful and informative verse! A seven for each Bravo, dear, Jan! God bless you!

It's the ones at the top who live to a ripe old age, and never even think about the ones that fall by the wayside. Drug dealers should be given life in Prison, James......

Superman is not about pills but about a mindset. We should not seek ecstasy in outer world. Ecstasy is always an inner thing. Superman lives in our mind and not in a pill. I am really shocked to receive the sad news from you. I am so sorry and sick. I do not want any addition to the death row. Try your best to stop this.Love>>rajat

I know of this story. It is Ecstacy with a Superman stamp on them. There are different active ingredients used to make Ecstacy. Most formulas are quick acting these pills are slow acting. The user thinks they are not working and takes more. This leads the user to overdose. The ingredient causes the body to overheat. This leads to death. Great important write Jan.

You have hit the nail on the head Armand - so tragic - it really needs to be highlighted to the users what the potential the effects of Ecstasy or MDMA really are:-( A subject too close to my heart for comfort:-) Hugs Jan xx
