The Allure of a Mature Woman

Thrills of ardent aster in Fall bloom,

whispers and lips in butterfly tease -

stoking hearth’s heat in surrendered swoon

harvesting lust.. with vanilla ease.

Your conjoining of nature and romance is so elegant and delicious, Susan. The butterfly kisses tantalize and tempt, and your recherche alliterations delight the poetic eye (ardent aster/hearth's heat/surrendered swoon). And what a splendid original ending with 'vanilla ease'! Divine!

Bah! You, Susan, are far more alluring than any 'ardent aster....' As for 'vanilla ease,' your passionate breathing leaves 'vanilla' in the dust... Of course, you cannot write about YOURSELF in this way, so you spin these poetic paeans as a nod to sublimation... Oh, yes, I want to mention that this poem actually has a good deal of potential. Now if you can just polish up a couple of... lol. Another masterpiece, my dear. Moonlight and Stardust, Gershon

"In Fall bloom, whispers with vanilla ease" Such a beautiful image you paint with your words. And that is "The Allure of a Mature Woman" Because she is elegant, graceful and breathtaking, all at the same time. She moves in a wonderful fashion, never drawing attention to herself directly. Your thoughts leave me in awe. Congratulations Susan, on this win. :) Brandy

What an honor to share the podium with your amazing rhyme and imagery! Even your title rhymes! Certainly not a crime to be in awe of your amazing rhymes! The romance enfolded into your lines seeps out like perfume, Susan. And the subtle clues in words like "tease," "swoon," "surrendered" draw the spirit into the romance of the poem. Congratulations my friend in rhyme time!

Great poem Susan. I looked up Asters (aka Michaelmas Daisies??) before realising we actually have some growing in our garden in 3 colours. :) "Asters bring delightful beauty to the garden in late summer and autumn, when many summer blooms may be fading." Cheers - Gary :)

Yes Autumn and Maturity seems exciting to a young man as Spring and young are not a challenge! We only have to remember the film 'Mrs. Robinson!' Also as one Mature woman to another! Hugs and blessings my friend. Jennifer.
