The ABC’s Of Book Banning      Report a Book Ban to PEN America

Authors of color who’ve long sought notice no longer on shelves in the library                       
Books worth banning are worth reading, abide only mundane and ordinary?                                                                                                                           
Cencoring true history, LGBQ+, marginalized writers who fought hard literally 
Banned book week, libraries embrace the written word etching good impression                                                                                                
Our nation of enlightened democracy now curtail our freedom of expression                                                                       
One creator one creed belief, whilst all people are not redeemed as equal
Knowledge helps the oppressed, true stories save lives, a bio and its sequel
Brilliant children read learning how the world works so they may take a stand 
Ann Frank’s coming of age, noted in her diary her period began, cause for a ban
No longer will their minds expand with wider views of the world in our prisons
Neglecting hard work, years of research, is good for our daughters and sons?
Intelligent writers saw discrimination, fight for equal protection under the law
Now sued, counties for book removal in schools, officials worse than a booklouse
Groups of diverse authors join parents, students, and Penguin Random House!

David Smith March 13, 2024 at 12:42 PM Well crafted and subject tackled from right angle. I like to rescue old biographies and autobiographies written at time things happened by people who lived through them. A lot of modern books are sanitized and people who want us all to be politically correct. I wrote a book called suffer the little children on life in daycare. I Am Anaya February 19, 2024 at 9:17 AM I understand that yes, one cannot believe everything they read. That is why all points view should be afforded. That is why we read what the credible critics and their reviews say, it's so important Victor! Just a note, they are using Wikipedia to decide if sexually implicit, that shouldn't be enough, we need well-informed citizenry. :)

Ink Empress February 18, 2024 at 12:43 PM Oh a powerful write this is, i think iv read about this somewhere else too, on instagram about some books getting banned: not sure which ones, but there are more important things that need banning and books definitely arent that: we live in a world of discrimination, and imitation, where AI too is celebrated. Silent One February 18, 2024 at 10:34 AM I dont think any books should be banned, but different countries have different rules and I believe in the USA, different states have different rules... a good collection of examples here.. dear Anaya.
