The African Child
the African child
I am the African child
born into poverty and slavery
so no matter what I do
nobody adores me
my own people even ignored me
may be it because of my skin
but i am moved by the spirit within
i never had shelter
I never have mother nor father
I have been through child labor
my only hope is my prayer
for I have been through intimidation
discrimination, rejection and whatever
I have passed through fire
but still hope for a better future
