That Spark Within
There’s a spark
within each of us,
igniting at birth,
Guardian of our path,
step by step.
If we ignore it,
shun it’s radiance,
and embrace the darkness,
it will flicker and die.
If we open the ears of our hearts,
it will fan into flame
to fuel our imaginations,
build our hope,
feed our energy,
and give us life.
Years fly by as a runaway train,
scenery ever changing,
but the spark remains
our constant companion.
It’s as alive when we’re old
as it was in our youth.
That spark is the Holy Spirit,
voice of God.
