That Look

our eyes catching
embracing
entwining
longing
lingering
not letting go

in such an embrace
only pre-lovers know
looking for answers
for clues
for questions
anything

the caress of that moment
is warm and perfection

all the sadder when it breaks
like a fine crystal bridge
shattering
disintegrating

precious
for the time it lasts
