That Kind of Attention
Dog sits at top of couch, inside picture window, looking forlorn at cat.
Cat stares back, from the other side of the glass, longing to be inside.
I feel guilty, because it is my allergies that are keeping the cat outside.
Husband is grateful because the cat is so needy, needs lots of pettings.
We cannot have two creatures in here needing that kind of attention.
It took me over fifty-years to show my husband how to settle down.
I do not have that much time left to train a cat to entertain himself.
