Thank You, November-N
Good morning, November.
It is now 1:30 AM on the 15th day;
And it just occurred to me that I have
Not spoken directly to you until now.
I do apologize because I owe you a few
Commendations that are now past due.
In my area, your winds have been noticeable
But mild and gentle, allowing my weak and aging
Fence to remain standing. Your rains, although modest,
Have been highly welcomed. I am deeply gratified that you
Did not make a resounding entry with power-packed storms,
Creating falling trees and power line black-outs. Why, the rains
Have been intermittent and slow-dropping; not driven by high winds,
Causing flash floods and mudslides.
It is very fitting as we approach The Thanksgiving Holiday to say, "Thanks, November. We could not ask for better".
