thank you for the sugar cookie
Classroom door opens
Third grader named Piper enters carrying cookies on a tray
Would you like one?
All the students yell that they want one.
I tell them “just for adults,” for there are not enough.
She has one sugar, three peanut butter and eighteen raisin cookies left.
I take the last sugar cookie.
What kind of mother sends raisin cookies for a birthday party at school?
