Thank God

Waves come and waves go
Relentless as always
Sometimes big, sometimes small
And still they come

But in the end
What more could we ever wish for 
Or expect than simply this
And in that is the ultimate solace

Waves come and waves go
And in the end what more could we want
As we whisper to ourselves,
“Thank God”, for it all
