Text
she said
"i am that"
i said
"that i am"
they said
"what's that?"
we nailed ourselves down
to an idea running round
in circles
circumscribing the vague notion
of ambergris
lightly placed
at the borders
of your lips
in the hope that i might find
myself
between the last word
and the next
in that world between your hips
and the realm between your
texts
no longer hot or cold
a thrust between folds of my
mind
not much different than any other
combination of letters or rhymes
without parting space or
time
the caress
across a polished screen
i can almost feel the tremble
of your thigh
almost, almost
as i scroll myself down
to that place
where i reply.
