Whoa. My mother's side of the family lived in Houston for a long time. She told me that her mother carried a small hand fan with her whenever she left an air-conditioned place... Now I get it. Today was 96 degrees with 90% humidity in my neighborhood in Chicago. Couldn't even go outside. Heat hit me like a brick wall.

My mother and grandmother both carried hand fans in the summer. Neither of their homes were air conditioned at the time. Chicago sounds terribly muggy. Definitely humid here. I lived and worked in Muncie, Indiana. I remember the summer humidity that floated down from the Great Lakes. My apartment wasn't air conditioned. Whew...you're right...humidity hits like a brick wall. Stay inside and stay cool. have an enjoyable weekend, Sara

Wow, has a year gone by that quickly? Seems like only a few months ago you were having a heatwave? Lovely image to go with the lovely Haikus, Sara...Hugs

Thanks for remembering, Maria. Yes, last year's heatwave was longer and more intense than this years. Hope things are cooler where you are. I appreciate your visit and positive ewords, hugs, Sara

It's been a hot, humid summer here with some flooding in some places in Georgia but not as bad as Texas had. Thanks for sharing this creative work with us and I really like the artwork accompanying it. Sara K

Hot and humid in our part of Texas, too. No floods here but west of us in Bill's hometown. Hope you have a way to cool down in the Georgia heat. Glad you liked the artwork, hugs, Sara B

Sara, we’re in the middle of an English heatwave, a large ice cube for a seat would be a treat, till it melted, then I’d never get back upon my feet. Love the Haiku… Beryl

we're having a Texas heatwave too...felt like 107 today, with no air...beastly hot. Yes, an 'iced' seat would be great. Glad you liked my Haiku. Thank you for consistently reading my poetry. Color me grateful, Sara
