Reaching, stretching out for a touch at the very limits of extension is bound to fail. The tenuous connection is weak, the link is a gossamer veil. To make a real connection you need to get closer.
Thread cast, a lifeline
stretched touch, finger to finger,
poised for connection.
But without grip, can't hold on.
Out of reach, connection snaps.
