When the Toilet Paper is Almost Empty Poetry Contest

Sponsor- Sara Kendrick

Tension

toilet is tolerably clean and tasteful, but
toilet paper is almost empty, what a tedious test
tension builds, isn't one sheet too tight?
terror strikes, as the last sheet is spent!
tenaciously glued to commode, feeling tacky.
twin towels hang on the rod, a talisman
to use it or not is the question, thrive or tire.

Congratulations Valsa on your first place win in this contest with a cute take of the prompt to carve a lovely pleiades concluding with a verse which purposely leaves one still thinking. Wish you a blessed day as usual.

This poem cleverly captures a humorous and relatable situation with great creativity. The use of words starting with "t" adds a fun touch to the rhythm and mood of the piece, dear Valsa.

This is a delightfully funny and relatable poem! You’ve executed the Pleiades form perfectly, with the repeated "t" sounds building the comedic tension line by line. Elevating a mundane bathroom panic into a high-stakes moment of "terror" makes for a fantastic, entertaining read.
