Ten Things - Best of Memories

a day at the fair savoring an ice cream cone best of memories petting my cat or taking the dog for a walk best of memories cruising in my car the top down, wind in my hair best of memories summer and sunsets jumping waves, bathing in sun best of memories Halloween, Christmas, birthdays and Fourth of July best of memories meeting up with friends conversations with dinner best of memories popcorn with a movie sharing this with someone loved best of memories writing poetry challenging the heart and soul best of memories my grandchildren's hugs kind words and playing fun games best of memories seeing family laughing while reminiscing best of memories July 23, 2019 for Jamie Pan's Multiple-Haikus Poetry Contest Writer's Statement: I wanted to do a string of these little poems to show the things I remember the most in my life, the things that bring me the most joy. Since these are all things that have created for me my best memories, I continue to do as many of them as I can. We don't have to be rich and living in a mansion to enjoy these pleasures, and I feel very grateful that I have even had the privilege of doing all these things which for others in the world may not even be possible for them! I strongly believe that we must enjoy our lives, and try to share with others the things that make us happy. In this way, we are constantly making more and more happy memories.

This shows you love the "little things" which is exactly the same as my nature. I get off big time on the small things because they are what makes life large. Enjoyed this much. Love ... CayCay

Nice haiku - you stuck to the 5 7 5 formation. There is a coffee shop near me and they have a notebook called "Matthew's Book" and a book called Community Journal. I write in them regularly. The Jewish High Holidays come in the fall. I intend to attend service on those days. I am not super religious but I am a theist. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

The optimism in this poem made me smile today, and I remembered some things I liked to do that I have not done for awhile too, Andrea. Nice one!

I agree Andrea. Poetry shares those joys with loved ones and strangers alike as well as creating a vivid memory to keep in later years when our memories grow a bit dimmer. This will be a top winner no doubt! It's wonderful! : ) xxoo

no, I don't think it will be a winner There are only ten spots and I have seen several entries that were quite poetic compared to mine. I was imitating that repeating style he showed us, but maybe it makes my lines here too ordinary, and i can hardly call them real haiku!
