Tell Me Why
Why do we care about the rich and famous?
But not the homeless families and soldiers
On the streets
Why do we push kids to go to college
But when they do
We criticize them for being broke
Because they didn't have to right out of high school
Tell me why people say they'll help others
But they only help the pretty popular ones
And anyone who is the slightest bit different in looks
They completely refuse
Tell me why men can't cry
Or show any emotion to anyone
Why do they have to be the strong ones
With a stone cold face
Society
Tell me why we focus on the most stupid things?
Why must you distract us from the real issues in the human race?
Now a 10 year old boy
Who is being bullied
The teachers see but they aren't the least bit worried
It's a part of growing up they think
But the little boy doesn't think that he matters
And at 10 years old
He's contemplating suicide
Tell me why you only started caring AFTER he took away his life
When the signs were as clear as day
Why are you pushing for bullying to stop?
When yesterday you told the same little boy that was bawling his eyes out
To suck it up
Society
Tell me why you are so cruel
Why do you only cherish the upper class?
And the rest of us you ridicule.
