Tears On Hope

Tears well up my eyes
Locked behind a dam
Threatening to burst
And drown the frail me

Were it they would flow
Cleansing a bitter heart
Eyes locked on thee
Begging for thy mercy

Why allow suffering
For your servants
Why so harsh
Their judgement

The wise offer no advice
Oracles bring only tears
And seers shut their eyes
Why judge them so harsh

If there was but a reprieve
Stealing swiftly the heavens
Would I the gates were open
My petition to Thee I send
