Notes About The Poem

October 26, 2025

Poet's note: I used the color turquoise to represent an awakening and a replenishment of one's spirit. Turquoise signifies forgiveness, peacefulness, healing, serenity, love and joy; all the feelings I imagine one would experience when they are met by a loved one guiding their soul to the other side of the skies.

Teardrops

in your sacred moments of surrender you relinquished your natural instincts to angel’s silver shroud with joyous turquoise tears and when again you soared ~ you carried dad with you ~ to the other side of the skies as the sun bestowed a halo upon the celebration of ~~~ONENESS~~~ * o xOx ooOoo xxXOXxx oo-LOVE-oo xxxXXXXxxx ~ooOOOoo~ ~~xOx~~

Even in the other world, I like to imagine that there is a celebration of oneness among the married couple. Your mom must have missed your Dad so much that she wished to get reunited with her partner. You can hope that they got united in the other world celebrating joy arising out of love. Beautiful shape poem. Dear Susan, you are not simply a first rate poet but a great artist too. A tear drop falling and breaking into smaller bits.... so perfect.

I agree with everyone, pure imagery beauty, but I want to know more. Since injuring brain, I miss things others get & after reading many times, I can't figure out 'who' carries your Dad. Is it meant to be unclear/up to the reader? Now, contrary to blog you might not be glad I'm back - question asking brat! I was touched by your words on blog & thank you for same. I can now place fingers on keys, press w/o pain but only for a bit before it hurts. This night, I'm going to read/comment all I can.

Dear CayCay, I'm so very happy to see you back, questions and all! :)) I wrote this poem a few years ago when my father died. Moments before he passed, he was looking up beyond the physical world around him and seemed to be reaching with an outstretched hand into the spiritual world, where I imagined my mother and other loved ones where encouraging him to let go and travel to the other side of the skies with them. The 'you' in my poem represents my mom, who passed 23 years before my dad. He honored my mother's memory every day and I like to think she led the way for my dad when he passed. I'm so glad your are feeling better, my sweet poet friend. Your were sincerely missed. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
