Tea For Two

he poured himself his usual cup of happy
most days he took it the same
straight from the pot
a clean pot with traces of yesterday rinsed away
but just occasionally
he chose to add a wistful of bittersweet
and shed a tear or two

  *****

she sipped from her cup of bittersweet
most days she took it the same
straight from the pot
a crazed pot that wept traces of yesterday
but just occasionally
she allowed herself to add a crystal of hope
and stemmed a tear or two

Life just aint stagnate. I suppose it would be dismal to be happy or sad all the time. A very clever and original way of expressing the human condition. Love it. Congrats on the selection. Dave

There's a sadness about this piece Sharon. It's like two poems in one with loss being the word shared >> James ;)

Nicely done in the symbolism that you have used to evoke the meanings behind the tea. Perhaps they shoud be reading the leaves as well. Great write! Dan C ps. Thanks for your comments on my work.
